What is the difference between kitchen and laundry faucets?
Laundry faucets usually have a thread to connect a hose. If you live in an apartment or have a garden faucet for the hose and do not need this thread, you can choose a kitchen model for the laundry sink.
Other differences to kitchen taps are that they are usually more basic, cheaper and more durable. The reason is they are usually made of brass and employ compression valves rather than cartridge or ball valves.
In kitchens, a stylish and convenient faucet may be preferreable over a long-lasting one, so most models are made of galvanized steel coated with a shiny coating of chrome or some other material.
They often employ mixing valves and a single handle. Both the material and the valve make the kitchen faucet less durable.
